CIVIL AND CRIMINAL LITIGATION
This department is dedicated to court the preparation of court documents, attendance, representation and appraisal of client on progress of their matters. The department is headed by experienced litigators who have previously worked in established law firms and have a wealth of experience in handling court procedures. Though designed as one, the department has experts in the two major fields (Civil and Criminal) with each of the fields being handled by specialists in the different areas of Law practice.
The department is cognizant of the emerging trends in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and the benefits that come with it. Therefore, the department is re-engineering and re-structuring itself so as to accommodate and steer an ‘Out of Court’ section within it. This would mainly seek to review matters from clients and issue timely advice as to whether Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms are best suited in the prevailing circumstances. Some of the ADR options deployed by the firm are; Arbitration, Mediation, Conciliation and Negotiation. Recently, the firm successfully represented the County Government of Nyandarua in CONSTITUTIONAL PETITION NO. 7 OF 2018 (FORMERLY KISII HC CONSTITUTIONAL PETITION NO. 6 OF 2018) UNITED MILLERS COMPANY VS COUNTY GOVERNMENT OF KISII, COUNTY ASSEMBLY OF NYANDARUA & 90 OTHERS.
Generally, whether it is full blown litigation or alternative dispute resolution mechanism, we strive to ensure that the client’s interests are well taken off and that the dispute presents as minimum disruption as possible to the running of their business.
